1. Site Preparation & Foundation Construction
- Level, stable location – must support full tank weight.
- Reinforced concrete pad provides secure, impermeable base.
- Prevents future settling or shifting that could compromise integrity.
2. Secondary Containment & Positioning
- Construct and inspect bund before lifting tank into place.
- Carefully hoist and position tank within secondary containment.
- Captures waste oil safely in case of primary tank failure.
3. Piping Connections & Ventilation Setup
- Install inlet/outlet pipes using leak‑proof fittings.
- Properly sized vent allows air escape during filling and pressure equalization.
- All connections must be tightly sealed and properly aligned for safe operation.
4. Final Inspection & Testing
- Comprehensive inspection of all welds, seals, and piping connections.
- Hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure test verifies leak‑free status.
- Approved for operational use only after passing all safety tests.
