How to clean the internal sediment of the diesel fuel tank

The internal sediment of the diesel fuel tank can be cleaned according to the following steps:
1. Preparation
First transfer the diesel in the storage tank to other safe storage containers to ensure that the remaining diesel in the tank is as small as possible. Close the relevant valves and cut off the pipes connected to the storage tank to prevent diesel leakage or other substances from entering during the cleaning process. Prepare protective equipment, such as protective clothing, gloves, goggles, etc., as well as cleaning tools, such as high-pressure water guns, vacuum pumps, scrapers, brushes, etc., and prepare containers for collecting sediments.
2. Open the tank
Carefully open the manhole or inspection port of the storage tank to allow sufficient air circulation to discharge harmful gases that may exist in the tank. Before entering the tank, a gas detector is required to detect the oxygen content and harmful gas concentration in the tank. Only after ensuring safety can personnel enter.
Preliminary cleaning: Use tools such as scrapers or shovels to scrape off the thicker sediments attached to the tank wall and bottom, and collect the scraped sediments into a container. For the sediments at the bottom of the tank, a vacuum pump can be used to suck them out to minimize direct manual contact.
3. Rinse the tank body
Rinse the tank wall and bottom with a high-pressure water gun to wash away the fine sediments and oil attached to them. Pay attention to the pressure and angle of the water gun when flushing to ensure that the inside of the tank can be fully covered while avoiding damage to the tank. The sewage generated by flushing will contain sediments and oil, which needs to be discharged to the sewage treatment equipment through a special drainage pipe for treatment and cannot be discharged directly.
Wipe and dry: After flushing, wipe the water in the tank with a clean rag or mop. You can also use ventilation equipment to accelerate the drying of the tank to prevent residual moisture from causing rust in the tank or contamination of diesel.
4. Inspection and acceptance
After cleaning, check the inside of the tank to ensure that the sediment has been cleaned and there are no residual stains, oil and moisture on the tank wall and bottom. Check the auxiliary equipment of the tank, such as level gauges, valves, etc., to ensure their normal operation.

During the entire cleaning process, strictly abide by the safety operating procedures to prevent accidents such as fire, explosion, poisoning, etc. If the storage tank is large or has a lot of sediment, it is recommended to be operated by a professional cleaning team to ensure the cleaning effect and safety.
