1. Optimize storage conditions
Control temperature: The volatile rate of diesel is closely related to temperature. The higher the temperature, the faster it evaporates. Tank insulation technology can be used, such as wrapping insulation materials on the outside of the storage tank to reduce the impact of external temperature changes on the diesel in the tank. In addition, try to place the storage tank in a cool and ventilated place to avoid direct sunlight.
Reduce liquid level fluctuations: Frequent fluctuations in the liquid level will increase the contact area between diesel and air, resulting in increased volatile losses. Therefore, the liquid level in the storage tank should be kept stable as much as possible, unnecessary pouring and filling operations should be avoided, and the frequency and amplitude of liquid level changes should be reduced.
2. Improve tank design and maintenance
Use appropriate sealing technology: Good sealing is the key to reducing volatile losses. Ensure that the manholes, valves, pipe connections and other parts of the storage tank are well sealed. Use high-quality sealing gaskets and sealants, and check and replace them regularly to prevent air from entering the tank and contacting the diesel, and also prevent diesel vapor from leaking into the atmosphere.
Install a breathing valve baffle: Install a baffle at the breathing valve of the storage tank to change the direction of gas flow, so that the exhaled diesel vapor forms a buffer area in the tank, and some of the vapor will condense into liquid on the baffle and flow back into the tank, thereby reducing volatile losses.
3. Use advanced management measures
Reasonably arrange the time for receiving and sending oil: Choose to receive and send oil during periods of lower temperature, such as early morning or evening, when the volatility of diesel is relatively weak. Avoid a large number of receiving and sending oil operations during high temperature periods to reduce volatile losses.
Adopt oil and gas recovery system: install oil and gas recovery device to collect the volatilized diesel vapor in the storage tank, and after condensation, adsorption and other process treatments, return the recovered diesel to the storage tank to realize the recycling of oil and gas, effectively reduce volatilization loss, and also reduce pollution to the environment.
