Regular inspection
Appearance inspection: Perform an appearance inspection at least once a week to check whether the tank has any abnormalities such as deformation, dents, cracks, etc. Focus on the welds. If there are signs of leakage or desoldering in the welds, mark them immediately and arrange for repairs.
Accessory inspection: Check whether the valve opens and closes smoothly and whether the sealing is good; whether the liquid level gauge display is accurate and whether there is any jamming; whether the breathing valve works normally to ensure that it can effectively balance the pressure in the tank to prevent damage to the tank due to excessive or low pressure.
Cleaning and maintenance
Internal cleaning: Clean the tank every six months or according to the use of diesel. Use professional oil tank cleaning equipment to drain the diesel in the tank first, then replace the oil and gas in the tank with inert gas, and then rinse with clean water to remove impurities, sediments and rust on the tank wall to prevent it from contaminating the diesel.
External cleaning: Wipe the outside of the tank regularly to remove dust, oil stains and corrosive substances, keep the tank clean, and reduce corrosion to the tank by the external environment.
Anti-corrosion coating maintenance: Check the coating on the surface of the tank every year. If there is any peeling or fading, reapply it in time. The coating can effectively isolate air and moisture to prevent the tank from rusting.
Cathodic protection: For large storage tanks, cathodic protection measures can be adopted, such as installing sacrificial anodes, regularly checking the anode consumption, and replacing them in time to ensure the normal operation of the cathodic protection system and extend the service life of the tank.
Oil management
Regularly check the quality of oil products: Sampling and testing the diesel in the tank every three months to check its moisture, impurities, flash point and other indicators. If the quality of the oil product decreases, take measures such as filtering and dehydration in time.
Prevent oil pollution: During the diesel filling process, ensure that the refueling equipment is clean to avoid impurities from mixing into the tank. At the same time, prevent rainwater, dust, etc. from entering the tank and affecting the quality of the oil product.
