After cleaning and treating the tank surface, you can apply the primer. Primer can enhance the adhesion between the paint and the tank surface and effectively prevent metal rust. Use a paint brush or roller to dip an appropriate amount of primer, start from the top of the tank, and apply it evenly from top to bottom and from left to right. During the painting process, make sure that the primer fully covers every part of the tank, especially welds, corners and other parts that are easy to miss. Pay attention to control the brushing force to avoid dripping or missing brushing. After completing one coat of brushing, wait for the primer to dry fully according to the instructions of the paint product, which usually takes several hours.
2. Intermediate paint application (depending on the situation)
If the tank protection requirements are high, wait until the primer is completely dry before applying the intermediate paint. Intermediate paint can further improve the thickness and protective performance of the paint film. Use a brush or roller in the same way as the primer application. The drying time of the intermediate paint may be longer than that of the primer. You must strictly follow the product regulations and wait. You cannot proceed to the next step in advance to avoid affecting the overall coating quality.
3. Topcoat painting
After the primer or intermediate paint is dried to the standard, the topcoat painting stage begins. The topcoat determines the appearance and weather resistance of the tank. The topcoat color can be selected according to actual needs. The topcoat generally needs to be applied 2-3 times, and sufficient drying time must be left between each coat. When painting, keep the movements smooth and continuous to ensure that the paint surface is uniform and smooth. If a spray gun is used for spraying, the spray gun pressure and spraying distance must be adjusted to obtain the ideal effect. After the last coat of topcoat is applied, let the tank dry and solidify naturally in a well-ventilated environment, and avoid touching or contaminating the paint surface during this period.
