1. Safety Assessment and Protection
Fully check the surrounding environment of the storage tank, remove flammable and explosive items, set up obvious warning signs, and strictly prohibit unrelated personnel from approaching.
Carry out gas detection on the tank to ensure that the oil and gas concentration in the tank is lower than the safety threshold to prevent the risk of explosion during painting.
Construction personnel are equipped with professional protective equipment, including but not limited to solvent-resistant gloves, goggles, gas masks and flame-retardant work clothes, etc., to reduce the harm of paint and solvents to the body.
2. Tank Cleaning and Surface Treatment
Use a high-pressure water gun with a special degreasing agent to thoroughly rinse the surface of the tank to remove oil, dust and impurities, and then dry it naturally or wipe it with a clean rag to ensure that there is no water residue.
Carefully check the tank, use sandpaper to manually polish the rusted parts or use electric polishing tools to process until the metallic luster is exposed; for defects such as dents and cracks, use metal putty to fill and polish them flat to provide a good adhesion basis for subsequent painting.
3.Preparation of materials and tools
According to the material of the storage tank (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.) and the use environment (outdoor, indoor, chemical zone, etc.), select suitable paint products, such as epoxy paint and polyurethane paint with excellent oil resistance and corrosion resistance, and accurately calculate the amount according to the construction area.
Prepare a full range of construction tools, including paint brushes and rollers of different specifications for large-area painting; spray guns with air compressors to achieve efficient and uniform spraying; in addition, auxiliary tools such as putty knives, sandpaper, stirring rods, and measuring rulers are also required.
